Clot de l'Oum

Côtes de Roussillon | Languedoc-roussillon, France

successful succession story

Brothers Arthur and Eddy Bertrand had been looking to start their own wine project together. Arthur had made wine in various French wine regions such as Bandol, in the Côtes de Provence, in Burgundy (at the Clos du Moulin aux Moines) and in New Zealand at Foxes Island. Eddy, was a vineyard technician for the Sainte-Victoire Winegrowers' Association. In 2020 Eric and Léia Monné, then owners of Domaine du Clot de L'Oum, had been looking to pass the torch to someone who respected what they had already cultivated. Arthur and Eddy fell in love with the Côtes de Roussillon vineyards, knowing it would be the perfect place to develop their own wine project according to their values while carrying on their traditions with the greatest respect for terroir and nature.

minerality, freshness and tension

Domaine du Clot de l'Oum is nestled in the heart of the Fenouillèdes, between the Agly and Têt valleys, on the first eastern foothills of the Pyrenees. The wines have been certified Organic since 2000 and produced as naturally as possible. Spread between 400 and 600m above sea level, the estate's plots are mainly made up of old vines.

The hilly soils, mainly granitic, with schist and gneiss, benefit from the diversity of microclimates and exposures giving each cuvée a unique identity. The organic Roussillon wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown in their vineyard. The richness of the soil gives them minerality, freshness and tension.

a family adventure

Grandsons of farmers, Arthur and Eddy have always been immersed in the agricultural environment with the desire to one day be part of it. Accompanied by their parents, Brigitte and Jean-Marc, the brothers are living out a dream adventure, surrounded by their family and friends, producing elegant wines that reflect their passion, ultimately leading to shared moments and experiences with their wine at the heart of it all.
